**Position Summary**:
The Community Engagement and Development Support Coordinator will enhance L'Arche Ottawa’s connections with stakeholders, support visibility initiatives, and assist in implementing strategies that deepen the organization’s impact. While assisting with various community engagement activities, this role focuses on communications, development support, and relationship-building within established partnerships, without duplicating existing efforts in outreach and community life coordination.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Fundraising & Development**- Develop and lead fundraising activities to ensure program sustainability and build capacity for L’Arche Ottawa services.
- Track donations and document in-kind and community contributions, maintaining records for continuity and reporting.
- Identify and pursue grants opportunities.
- **Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship-Building**- Cultivate positive relationships with current community partners, foundations, and other stakeholders to foster long-term support and collaboration.
- Support the Executive Director in managing relationships by documenting and tracking engagement history and related activities to ensure continuity and growth.
- Coordinate engagement efforts, ensuring alignment with existing community life events and outreach, led by other team members.
- **Communication and Content Creation**- Develop and manage content for newsletters, social media, and website updates that highlight L'Arche Ottawa’s mission, achievements, and community impact.
- Collaborate with team members to share community stories, events, and important updates with a focus on celebrating the values and activities within L'Arche Ottawa.
- Assist with media relations and public-facing communications to build visibility for L’Arche Ottawa, supporting both in-person and virtual interactions.
- **Event and Program Support (Auxiliary)**- Provide logístical and promotional support for select community life events, ensuring that communications and materials are aligned with L'Arche Ottawa’s values.
- Assist the Community Life Coordinator as needed, ensuring a cohesive and well-rounded approach to community celebrations and events.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience in communications, community engagement, or development within a non-profit or social services setting.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with digital communications and social media management.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple projects, with an emphasis on documentation and relationship tracking.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and communications tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Canva).
- A strong appreciation for the mission and values of L'Arche Ottawa.

**Working Conditions and Physical environment**:

- Will need to work in an office environment with a number of other people, sometimes sharing equipment and space, with possibility to work remotely occasionally.

**Additional Information**:
This role focuses on enhancing and supporting existing community and development initiatives, allowing L'Arche Ottawa to deepen its impact and broaden its reach. Some evening or weekend availability may be needed to support key events.

**Salary**: Based on L’Arche Canada’s Compensation Policy. Hourly rate starting at $30.62, based on previous experience, skills, and education.
