We are seeking a dynamic, committed professional to join our team:
Family and Community Engagement Coordinator

**Salary range**: $73,757 to $95,176

Reporting to the Superintendent of Instruction, the Family and Community Engagement Coordinator will cultivate and sustain partnerships between home, community and school for student achievement and wellness by helping to implement the OCDSB framework on Family and Community Engagement and the procedures which support the District's goal of engaging families and communities.

**Key responsibilities include**:
Establishing, monitoring the implementation plan for the OCDSB Family and Community Engagement department and its activities;
Coordination services to support outreach to underserved and underrepresented families and communities, newcomer communities, and other parent groups who require support for school engagement; and coordinating system translation and interpretation services, and ensuring appropriate resources, supports, and services are available to families and communities, and committees that serve families.

Building and coordinating school, family, and community partnerships that centres on relational trust and culturally responsive and respectful practices, fosters innovative and inclusive learning environments, and promotes effective partnerships that support students and school improvement.

Supporting the Parent Involvement Committee and school councils operations, family and community forums; and liaising with parent networks and community organizations as needed to promote and maintain mutually supportive working relationships with the Board which support students and schools.

Organizing parent leadership training workshops for school council members and school administrators in conjunction with the OCDSB Leadership Development Plan.

Participating in collaborative projects and planning activities with other central coordinators and departmental managers as needed; and preparing reports as needed concerning family and community engagement for the consideration of Directors Executive Council and Board, including reports related to planning and setting priorities.

Preparing and finding funding opportunities, and writing polished proposals for grants.

Leadership skills, and demonstrated ability to work and collaborate effectively with diverse communities;
Sound understanding of the public school system; and knowledge and understanding of Ministry and Board policies related to Family and Community Engagement; Demonstrated knowledge and experience in project management and policy development and implementation as they relate to community services;
Proven ability to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with trustees, staff, community, parents, students and external organizations; and strong presentation and report writing skills.
