**Marathon Underground Constructors Corporation **is currently seeking a full-time estimator to join our team in Acheson, AB.

Marathon Underground specializes in shoring construction, deep foundation construction, and a broad variety of heavy civil works.

This position would be responsible for evaluating tender documents, specifications and drawings, ensuring that an obtainable and profitable estimate is prepared to successfully close and win projects.

This position is in Acheson, Alberta. Our office in not easily accessible via public transportation. Reliable personal transportation, a licence and clean drivers abstract are required.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Responsible for preparing estimates and proposals on time
- Review tender documents, plans, specs and project sites to clearly understand the scope of work to be priced
- Communicating with in house engineering team, suppliers and consultants to clarify scope of work, materials and schedule requirements
- Soliciting vendors and subcontractors for estimates
- Capable of handling all aspects of the tender process.
- Bid closings/ proposal submissions
- Supporting change order pricing as required
- Resolving cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
- Negotiating prices
- Establish and maintain working relationships with subcontractors, construction personnel, supervisors, and the estimating team

**Required Skills & Qualifications**
- Previous estimating experience is an asset but not essential.
- Excellent negotiating skills
- Knowledge of the construction industry, and specifically heavy civil construction
- Proven success working with vendors and contractors
- Proficiency with MS-Office and MS-Project
- Proficient in scheduling and capable of producing tender schedules
- Sound knowledge of Project Estimating principles and practices specific to planning, execution, pricing and vendor/subcontractors

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Experience**:

- Estimating: 1 year (preferred)
