**Job Description**:
**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Director, Support Services - The Facilities Manager ensures the delivery of efficient and effective services to the hospital, its patients, staff and visitors. This position is responsible for managing the operation and maintenance of the facility, and assisting in the planning, implementation and co-ordination of construction and/or renovation projects. Responsibilities also include the management of Biomedical Engineering, and administration of contracted services that includes Security, Parking, Snow Removal and Grounds. The Manager is accountable for an operating budget of approximately $3.5M and an annual capital budget of $1M-$2M.

The Facilities Manager accountabilities include the following, but are not limited to:

- Ensure that a robust and effective preventative maintenance program is in place for both Maintenance and Biomedical services.
- Ensure the provision of safe continuous services to the Hospital including HVAC, water systems, electrical services, fire alarm, firefighting systems and auxiliary systems.
- Provide the leadership, management skills, and technical knowledge in mobilizing human and physical resources to achieve service objectives within the hospital facility.
- Drive implementation processes through effective collaboration between all departments and stakeholders.
- Enforce policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services and ensures compliance with all relevant codes and regulations.
- Monitor service and staff performance in relation to the above standards, policies and procedures.
- Accountable to ensure a facilities team focused on operational and customer service excellence.
- Develop standards of accountability and reporting of activities.
- Support Capital and Planning projects, including the Capital Redevelopment Project (CRP).
- Manage all CMH responsibilities related to the recently installed Co-Generation plant.
- Coordinate the implementation of Hospital Infrastructure Redevelopment Fund (HIRF) capital projects.
- Monitor financial and non-financial results in areas of responsibility to achieve objectives and ensure that corrective actions are implemented when variances are identified.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Relevant post-secondary degree, in addition to a recognized professional/technical designation required.
- Minimum 5 years of related leadership/management experience of a Facilities Management and Building Maintenance preferably, within a healthcare facility.
- Demonstrated competencies in time management, priority setting, project and meetings management, and presentation skills essential.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Well-developed organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams and commitment to continuous professional growth.
- Ability to work within a complex, dynamic, team-based work environment.
- Ability to manage specific performance standards and to hold staff accountable for performance.

- Computer experience including Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and facility maintenance related programs is required.
