**The opportunity**:
The Price Faculty of Engineering has a unique 18 month opportunity available for a **Co-op/IIP Business Development Assistant**to contribute to the planning and advancement of the Engineering Co-operative Education and Industrial Internship Program (Co-op/IIP).
In this role the incumbent will contribute to the delivery of the Price Faculty of Engineering Co-operative Education and Industrial Internship Program (Co-op/IIP). This position liaises with industry partners, government and regulatory bodies to secure placement opportunities for our students. The incumbent is responsible to support our employer partners with all aspects of Co-op/IIP from events, to posting positions, hiring students and any follow up that is required.
**The qualifications and experience we’re looking for**:
- Completion of a High school or equivalent program of studies in directly related Office skills required.
- University degree in a behavioural, social science, human services or business field preferred.
- Minimum 4 years work experience in a non-academic setting required.
- Demonstrated experience planning and/or delivering oral presentations required.
- Knowledge of university regulations, programs, policies and procedures preferred.
- Knowledge of the Engineering industry and Engineering terminology preferred.
- Experience dealing with diverse populations and those facing barriers to employment an asset.
- Experience planning and coordinating special events is an asset.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Must have highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with all levels of staff, students and the public in a professional manner.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using MS Office Suite is required.
- Must be dependable, self-motivated and possess a strong work ethic, with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines and manage changing priorities.
- Demonstrated presentation skills required.
- Must be able to contribute to a respectful and collegial work environment.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills with an innovative and flexible approach to finding solutions required.
- Ability to communicate in an articulate, knowledgeable, and persuasive manner, both verbally and in writing, is required
- Demonstrated ability to foster a customer focused environment with a genuine interest in helping students required.
- Must have strong networking skills with the ability to establish good working relationships with members of the business community.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
