With the support and partnership of our fantastic team, the coordinator will build relationships with housing providers and provide support to the community to better meet the housing needs of individuals on the autism spectrum. Autism Edmonton is the oldest autism organization in the province and has served the Edmonton and area community since 1971. Autism Edmonton continues to be the "go-to" source and initial point of contact today. It provides ongoing support in three key areas: community support and services, advocacy, and knowledge and education. **Responsibilities**: - Support Autism Edmonton (AE) and the Autism Society Alberta (ASA) to build relationships with landlords, housing providers, and the autism community. - Identify and implement housing strategies that meet the needs of AE and ASA’s members. - Jointly with the Executive Director, continue building relationships with all levels of government to support community housing initiatives relevant to our members. - Map partnerships between housing providers and the autistic community. Identify and coordinate new partnerships. - Identify steps taken by housing providers to support the needs of autistic tenants.
