**Location**: Halifax Regional Municipality & Surrounding areas (primary projects within HRM but coordination of more rural projects may be expected)

After spending many years working in both the architecture and construction industries, Peter Braithwaite established Peter Braithwaite Studio Ltd. in 2014 out of a desire to create a company that encompassed both design and construction. Since its establishment the company has completed many interesting residential and commercial projects and has excelled in cabinetry and furniture design. Our dedication to design excellence, and the highest standards of craftsmanship, is evident in the execution of all our projects to date.

As Site Forman you will complete tasks provided by the Project Manager. You should have a minimum of 10+ years experience, a strong understanding of math, be capable of using hand and power tools efficiently and effectively. You are expected to oversee job site maintenance and workflow as directed by Project Manager as well as coordination of sub-contractors and PBS on-site crew.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure the site is safe following company and NS safety standards
- Maintain professional working relationships with the clients, consultants, inspectors, subcontractors and other employees
- Review and understand project schedules and deliverables, planning work accordingly
- Lead and assist carpenters to complete tasks
- Strong emphasis on maintaining a clean and organized job site
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and other drawings/sketches
- Generate accurate material take-offs and facilitate material orders
- Understand and manage project schedules and budgets
- Maintain regular communication with Project Manager of site progress
- Use all hand tools and power tools with no supervision

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 10 years of carpentry/construction experience
- Minimum 5 years of supervising residential and small commercial construction projects
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Red Seal or equivalent experience an asset but not required
- Ability to lift 50-70 lbs on a regular daily basis
- Have a strong understanding of math including fractions, geometry, metric & imperial measurements
- Extensive knowledge of house framing, deck framing, window & door hanging, and finish work

**Work Schedule**:
Monday - Friday: 8am - 4:30pm
