**Overview**

The primary purpose of the Electrical Working Foreperson is to manage the daily work plan for the crew under their supervision. This is a leadership role responsible for supervising and ensuring the productivity and safety of crew members as they perform all work in connection with electrical, underground and substation projects.

**Responsibilities**
- Provide overall supervision of electrical work, underground and substation projects;
- Read and interpret site plans, construction drawings, and scopes of work;
- Coordinate essential personnel on-site to execute work plans and ensure qualified personnel are assigned to the tasks at hand;
- Provide direct supervision and technical guidance to journey and apprentice electricians;
- Communicate any technical/design issues to the Construction Manager, make recommendations for solutions and communicate any resulting work plan changes to the project crew;
- Work with the Construction Manager to ensure adequate equipment, tooling and/or personnel and implement changes as required;
- Understand and follow detailed construction schedules and communicate any issues or requirements to meeting the schedules with the Construction Manager;
- Report progress and submit timesheets at the end of each day to the Construction Manager;
- Ensure the crews are completing all required reports and activities including but not limited to tailboard safety talks, field level risk assessments, supervisor inspections, and equipment/vehicle inspections prior to performing their daily work tasks;
- Participate in reporting for any near misses, incidents and disciplinary actions;
- Adhere to all safety standards by following approved safe work plans; and,
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

**CANDIDATE PROFILE**:

- Electrical Trade Certification; Red Seal Endorsement preferred;
- Preferred 5+ years of leadership experience in electrical/underground/substation construction;
- Must have a safety-minded approach to performing daily tasks;
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills;
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage a team;
- Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity; and,
- Valid Driver’s License.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**:

- Regular travel (primarily across NS/NB), sometimes for extended shift schedules;
- Lifting (loading and unloading) objects up to 60lbs;
- Working outside for long hours in all weather conditions, sometimes in remote areas;
- Sometimes traversing uneven/off-road terrain in remote locations; and,
- Potential for encounters with local wildlife and insects.

Pay: $15.20-$46.24 per hour
