Donald’s Fine Foods is a family owned business and has operated for over 20 years. We are a specialty meat manufacturer spanning three plants in British Columbia and Saskatchewan.

**Brief Job Description**

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating all daily human

resources activities, such as employment, training and development, compensation, benefits,

performance management and employee relations. The incumbent ensures that all human

resources and related programs support the organization’s goals, policies, and objectives within

the appropriate regulations and generally accepted standards of sound human resource

management practices.

**Responsibilities**
- Provide a safe working environment for all employees
- To always lead in a manner that exemplifies honesty, integrity quality and trust
- To always lead by example that encourages all employees to strive and maximize their ability and performance, promote “Reach Higher”
- Responsible for all new hires and advertising of positions up to the Senior Management level
- Employee retention
- Coordinate new employee orientation
- Coordinate management succession plan
- Measure and report monthly on hourly turnover, absenteeism rate and retention
- Coordinate with department heads on disciplinary matters and issue disciplinary action for hourly employees
- Provide advice and direction on discipline matters to department heads and Senior Management
- Prepare and direct collective bargaining (Britco)
- Administer collective agreement
- Work closely with Employee Association to promote harmony in work force and work place
- Track employee performance reviews and discipline records
- Enforce all Safety regulations and rules in compliance with WorkSafe BC, Occupational health and Safety
- Ensure all safety meetings are held in a timely fashion
- Manage any time loss and medical cost WorkSafe BC claims
- Ensure all employees have signed off on training module(s) where applicable
- Enforce compliance with all provincial (Labour Code and Employment Standards Act of BC
- Consult with Senior Management when necessary on all labour relations matters. Keep Senior Managers apprised of labour trends and provide best advice
- Lead by example at all times by adhering and promoting Company procedures and policies.
- At all times promote the Company positively at the work place(s) and in the community
- Promote adherence to HACCP/CFIA regulations and best practices at all times
- All other duties as assigned

**Requirements**:

- Superb communication skills honed in business partnering/advisory roles
- Examples of adding value as both an individual contributor and active team member
- Ability to build rapport quickly with key members of the executive team.
- Ability to represent the Human Resource function as part of the bigger business picture
- Strong understanding of employment law
- Strong understanding of working within a collective bargaining agreement

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $75,000.00-$100,000.00 per year

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
