We currently have an opportunity for a Cash Application Clerk to support our Facility in Scarborough, Ontario. This role reports to the Credit Administrator & Cash Application Supervisor.

**Job Summary**

**Principal Responsibilities**
- Cash Application Duties:_
- Prepare daily check (in rare cases, cash) deposits
- Process daily remote deposits, print confirmation and check if deposit has been posted to bank account.
- Prepare, analyze and enter/upload cash receipts into A/R sub-ledger.
- Ensure cash receipts batch is balanced, the report is printed, and the batch is posted.
- Forward customer’s debit memos or other documents that come along with the checks to Credit Analysts.
- Forward copies of the checks to Credit Analysts for all deductions that will be set up on the accounts.
- Analyze cash discount taken on the payment, and charge back unearned / unauthorized discount deductions when necessary.
- Prepare/upload appropriate AR adjustments when needed and copy to general accounting department.
- Assist team in printing, distributing and saving prior day bank reports and daily lockbox
- Process check requests for refunds to customers, including corresponding AR adjustments.
- Provide reporting to management or credit analyst on processing issues (unapplied, credit notes, etc)
- Assist during internal and external audit requests related to AR postings
- Admin Duties:_
- Prepare file folders for cash receipts and adjustments.
- Archive cash receipts and adjustments files.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Requirements**:
**Qualifications & Experience**
- Post-Secondary Education preferred
- Two or more years related experience.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures preferred.
- Minimum numerical typing speed - 10,000 key strokes per hour.
- Working knowledge (intermediate level) of Excel, Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written

**Working Conditions**
- Always work indoors in corporate office environment with long periods of sitting
- May on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels.
- Employee may be required to perform a mínimal level of specific tasks such as lifting up to 5-10 lbs (files and boxes) with the support of tools
