The Human Resources assistant/payroll will assist in the development, recommendation and implementation of policies, procedures and administrative duties including but not limited to payroll functions. Performs Human Resources functions such as employee recruitment, document maintenance, training, employee benefits, safety compliance, regulatory compliance, assist with workers’ compensation, assist management and the payroll department.

Human Resource assistant Responsibilities:

- Hire, train, and educate employees
- Make sure all required forms are completed at the time of hire
- Enter new employees into the system
- Perform new-hire orientations
- Flag employees when eligible for benefits
- Work close with HR Director and Food Safety Manager to make sure employees are receiving all safety and food safety training
- Assist with Workers’ Compensation
- Inform all employees of workers’ compensation benefits at the initial date of hire and on a yearly basis
- Assist with the investigation and documenting of employee accidents/injuries
- Assist when necessary in completing the necessary forms e.g. Employee Report of Accident, take pictures if necessary.
- Re-train and make necessary corrections or changes to prevent accidents
- Take injured employees to clinic and follow up appointments
- follow up on injury claims and injured employees upon direction of the human resource director
- Ensure injured employees are receiving the proper treatment
- Assist with restocking first aid kits as needed
- Ensure OSHA compliance
- Update required postings provided my HR Director
- Prepare documentation for OSHA audits/inspections when needed
- General administration of employee benefits
- Be knowledgeable in all the benefit programs offered by the company
- Educate employees of the offered benefits package
- Assist employees with any questions, comments and concerns related to benefits
- Be knowledgeable and assist employees state programs, such as, Family Medical
- Help in preparing HR department for production and harvest meetings with owners and members of management
- Maintain records of meetings conducted
- Preparation for Food Safety and Worker Safety Audits
- Organized and timely storage of all documentation required for audits
- Assist owner and Human Resource Director with different levels of issues and concerns
- Employee file maintenance and yearly maintenance foreman binders
- Prepare an employee file folder for all new employees
- Ensure the employee files are maintained with all the necessary forms required by law
- Scan and file as needed
- Assist in updating foreman binders
- Maintain a high level of flexibility in case of necessity to assist another department
- Be cross trained in all the different departments
- Work in various departments when necessary
- Payroll responsibilities:

- Process payroll time cards
- Assist in double checking processed crews
- Assist in check printing: Exporting & reviewing
- Assist in preparing & sending out paychecks to crews on paydays

**Salary**: $20.00-$27.00 per hour
