**Requisition ID**: 159004 We are committed to investing in our employees and helping you continue your career at Scotiabank. **Summary**: As a Client Reporting Coordinator (Registered Products), reporting to the Senior Manager, Operations, you will possess knowledge of the various policies, processes and procedures relating to the operation of Tax Free Savings (TFSA), Registered Retirement Savings (RRSP), Registered Education Savings Plans (RESP), Registered Retirement Income Fund (RRIF) and Locked-in plans across all MD business lines. The incumbent must execute the assigned processes to the highest standard as per regulatory and legal requirements under the Income Tax Act (overseen by Canada Revenue Agency) and various provincial acts. The primary focus of the position includes responsibility for the production of annual federal and provincial tax slips for all registered products, completion and submission of other tax filings, and support for tax remittances and other centralized transactions and processes as required. **Duties & Responsibilities**: - Review and process special withdrawals/transfers/transactions: refunds of excess contributions, marriage breakdown transfers, internal transfers, home buyer’s and lifelong learning withdrawals, all RESP transaction and reporting; review all documentation provided by the regions on such transactions prior to completion of the transactions. - Analyze, resolve complex or escalated items: For issues brought to your attention, the incumbent should analyze the problem, propose best solutions and act on corrections. Response is expected within set SLA time frames. - Issue original and amended tax slips and process related filings with CRA and MRQ for Registered accounts. - Review RESP reports to ensure that transactions processed adhere to ESDC requirements - Manage, track and complete CRA Administrative Relief and Non-Qualified securities processes. - Complete and submit all regulatory filings related to T550, T3GR, TFSA Information Return and Employee Benefit Plans, as required. - Support RESP transfer requests, and resolve transfer inquiries, while providing the highest level of service to both internal and external clients. - Facilitate and maintain communication and flow of information related to Registered Products with cross-functional teams across the bank in Technology, Operations, Compliance, Regional Offices, as well as external vendors, as required. - Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. - Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. **Education & Experience**: - University degree or College diploma, preferably with a financial background - 2 years’ experience in the Financial Services industry with a basic understanding of the rules regarding Estates, Trusts, RESPs, RRSPs/RRIFs, TFSAs and non-registered investments and applicable tax-related issues - Basic knowledge of Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA) tax slips and forms - Experience with customer relationships management (CRM) tools - Completion of the Canadian Securities Course is an asset - Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset Competency Requirements: - Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and projects - Must be self-starter and independent task oriented, to work with minimum supervisor based on guidance from management - Familiarity with regulatory/compliance aspects of registered retirement, RESP programs Strategic and analytical attributes - Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills - Business education and/or investment industry and/or accounting experience - Ability to work effectively with others to achieve optimal outcomes Location(s): Canada : Ontario : Ottawa Scotiabank is a leading bank in the Americas.
