**What you will be doing in this role**:
- Process timely and accurate biweekly payroll
- Receive, review and import department timesheets into payroll system. Review imports and confirm accuracy of payroll for the pay period
- Process manual cheque requests and ROEs as required
- Respond to employee inquiries as required
- Review and process government remittances such as source deductions, WSIB, EHT and RRSPs
- Prepare monthly reconciliations and payroll journal entries
- Complete all year-end reconciliations including T-4, T-4A’s, T2200, general ledger, WSIB, EHT reconciliations and assist with year-end audit requirements
- Provide support for the organization with information on employment-related funding opportunities available through various resources throughout the province. (e.g. HRDC Summer Career Placement Program, Job Creation, Canada Wage Subsidy, etc.)
- Maintain employee benefit files with Canada Life online portal
- Respond to employee benefit inquires as required
- Review employee LTD deductions and reconcile with GL records
**Do you have what it takes?**
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation
- 3 years of experience working in a payroll and benefits role within a small to medium sized organization
- Diploma in Business Administration, Accounting or Human Resources preferred
- Experience with Payroll system or HRIS implementation (an asset)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to answer with exceptional clarity, internal and external stakeholder questions regarding payroll legislation, human rights, employment standards and pay equity.
