**Position Summary**:
The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for multiple clients, preparing month-end reports, year-end compilation engagements, and tax returns. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational efficiency, the ability to manage multiple client files in a deadline-driven environment and strong understanding of accounting standards and tax requirements.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Record and reconcile client transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and maintain general ledgers, journals, and trial balances.
- Prepare HST/GST tax remittances and filings.
- Process client payrolls accurately and on time, including year end reconciliations and filings
- Preparation of financial statements, working papers, and supporting documentation for year-end compilation engagements.
- Prepare personal (T1), corporate (T2), and trust (T3) income tax returns, ensuring accuracy and adherence to CRA guidelines.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Minimum of 2-3 years of bookkeeping experience in a public accounting firm
- Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a related discipline is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and solid working knowledge of Excel.
- Familiarity with CaseWare and Taxcycle considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and Canadian tax compliance.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.
- Strong communication and client service orientation.
