**Job Details**
**Position Title**: Sustainability Project and Research Assistant - I/O
**Status**: Full-time, Contract (1 year)
**Hours**: 37.5 Weekly
**Faculty/Department**:Capital Development and Facilities Management -** **Sustainability
**Campus/Location**:Hybrid - North and Lakeshore Campuses in-person and work virtually from home (varies weekly, based on operational needs)
**Salary**: $24.62 CAD Hourly - (Payband D)
**What You Will Do**:
The Sustainability Project and Research Assistant will assist with project and research initiatives and coordination for the Office of Sustainability. They are responsible for supporting the research, data collection and analysis that is required to create resources, information and reporting for the Sustainability Plan.
The incumbent will also: work with data and research tools (Excel, Trello, Microsoft Office, etc.), support sustainability reporting (Fair Trade Campus, STARS, etc.), the tracking of metrics related to sustainability programs and initiatives, and provide office administrative support as required.
- Specifically:_
- Assist the Office of Sustainability with quantitative data collection, analysis, and reporting, including designing surveys, cleaning and analyzing data, and presenting results
- Assist in the research and writing of sustainability reporting frameworks, such as Fair Trade Campus and Sustainability Tracking Assessment & Rating System (STARS)
- Conduct secondary research to determine best practices across institutions for sustainable alternatives to current Humber practices
- Assist development of projects, resources and information that support staff, students, and faculty at Humber College to make more sustainable choices
- Proof-read reports and marketing material for clarity to ensure they meet our high quality communication standards
- Contribute to projects and programs that require continuous input from multiple stakeholders (e.g., Indigenous Education & Engagement, Black Academic Success and Engagement, LGBTQ+ Resource Center)
- Assist with other work as needed, including running the Office of Sustainability table at events occasionally
- Demonstrate a commitment to sustainability as well as equity, diversity, and inclusion

**What You Bring to the Role**:
- A bachelor’s degree and/or Diploma in Project Management, Research, Sustainability, or related programs
- Demonstrate advanced research, project coordination and management skills (e.g., defining project scope, coordinating meetings, reporting progress, etc.)
- Experience in research-related tasks (e.g., collecting, analyzing and reporting data, pivot tables and excel proficiency)
- Creative thinker that is sustainability-minded - interest in social and environmental sustainability is an asset
- Takes initiative, has excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Oral Communication - Speaks clearly and confidently in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; provides, accepts and learns from feedback; participates in meetings
- Written Communication - Writes clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar; varies writing style to meet audience needs; able to read and interpret written information
