**RESEARCH ASSOCIATE - R&D FORMULATION CHEMISTRY**

**Are you a driven experienced Chemist excited by the development of new products and looking for an opportunity to be a part of a dynamic R&D team?**

We are seeking for a **Research Associate **with Industrial R&D experience preferably in inorganic/organic chemistry with liquid/emulsion/suspension formulation expertise.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Investigates and develops new agricultural formulations
- Accurately records all results and documentation through lab notebooks and formal reports
- Scale-up of agricultural formulations including: pilot scale batches in the laboratory and development of written procedures for factory scale-up
- Orders and maintains supplies of laboratory raw materials and other consumables
- Analytical instrument calibration, inventory management and other assigned laboratory tasks

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES**:

- Demonstrated working knowledge of inorganic formulations and metal chelate complexes including structure and properties of substances as well as chemical processes and transformations
- Knowledge of emulsions and surfactant technologies
- Demonstrated scientific capabilities and methods to solve problems; ability to identify complex problems and review related information to proactively develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Knowledge of analytical and spectroscopic instrumentation
- Demonstrated capability to manage multiple projects with mínimal supervision and a high level of accountability for achieving timely results
- Strong ability to communicate within and outside an organization (written and verbal)
- Reading and interpreting results within guidelines and drafting scientific and general reports
- Customer focused with proven ability to manage numerous parallel projects, meet accelerated timelines and multiple project deadlines
- Flexibility within the job role, brings a positive attitude and collaborates well with team members. Self-starter who takes on and completes tasks outside of primary job function.
- Heavy lifting will be required

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**:

- Minimum BSc in chemistry from a recognized University.
- 3 years R&D work experience would be an asset, preferably in an industrial research setting involving development of liquid/emulsion formulations
- Follows Health & Safety polices and procedures and works in a safe manner at all times
- Advanced comprehension of lab skills, safety, and knowledge of working components in an industrial research and development laboratory
