**Job status**:Permanent Full-time 1.0 FTE (75 hours bi-weekly)
**Compensation**:$55,480-$60,458

**YOUR ROLE**
**JOB SUMMARY**
Reporting to the Manager/Director, Volunteer & Support Services, the Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the maintenance and administration of Volunteer & Support Services’ program including recruitment, training and supervision of volunteers and effectively coordinating an integrated volunteer program to meet organizational needs.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Supervises volunteers & performs recruitment duties, such as screening applicants, conducting interviews, reference checks, selecting and scheduling applicants for all volunteer roles.
- Provides orientation and training to all volunteers, collaborates with Director and Manager on the design and ongoing updates to all training content and onboarding documents. Monitors all volunteer performance, follows up on any issues or concerns and takes appropriate disciplinary action.
- Works collaboratively with Volunteer & Support Services team and other Canuck Place Children’s Hospice (CPCH) staff to ensure services provided by volunteers are meeting established objectives and outcomes.
- Reviews and recommends changes and additions to volunteer training content and general documents as well as policies and procedures within Volunteer & Support Services.
- Provides general administrative support for the day-to-day operations of the Volunteer Program including scheduling, assignment of tasks, and maintenance of volunteer inbox.
- Maintains the volunteer database (Better Impact), provides reports and statistics; provides input on the Volunteer portion of the CPCH website as needed.
- Organizes and runs volunteer recognition events and activities including annual recognition events, education mingles, and others.
- Assists with Canuck Place Children’s Hospice (CPCH) special events including, but not limited to, Family BBQ, Winter Family Festival, and galas as required.
- Builds and maintains interdisciplinary relationships with CPCH team members and works closely with Food Services, Housekeeping, facilities, development and administrative teams.
- Coordinates evaluation of volunteers and assists with the collection of volunteer feedback regarding the volunteer program and other general input through surveys and meetings.
- Collaborates with Director and Manager on the planning and facilitation of VLT (Volunteer Leadership Team) meetings, VLT recruitment, minute taking and other duties as needed.
- Provides back-up for the Manager role as required.
- Assumes other related responsibilities, as assigned.
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant discipline
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a volunteer coordination role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Completion of a volunteer management certificate is an asset.
