**What to expect in this role on a given day**:
As a member of our HR team, you will have responsibility for attracting, developing & retaining top talent for our growing Canadian team. You will do recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and employee records maintenance. Additionally, you will serve as a liaison for employees and management, ensuring that all HR-related matters are resolved in a timely manner. You will build credible relationships with business leaders allowing for better decisions & organizational effectiveness.
- Foster positive relationships with employees & managers to create a healthy work environment
- Address employee concerns and provide guidance on conflict resolution
- Assist in performance management processes, including goal setting, evaluations, and performance improvement plans
- Responsible for onboarding new employees, including orientation, documentation, and systems access and offboarding employees, including the offboarding checklist, exit questionnaire, and return of company equipment.
- Ensure the accuracy & timeliness of employee related data into Payworks.
- Review resumes, conduct interviews, and coordinate the selection process.
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract and retain talent.
- Generate official internal documents such as offer letters, promotion letters and disciplinary documents.
- Maintaining physical and digital files for employee documentation, benefits and attendance records.
- Up to 15% travel may be required to other Canadian offices and the corporate headquarters, which is based in the United States.
**You will be a good fit for this position if you**:
Have 2+ years proven experience as an HR professional, preferably in warehouse/distribution industry and a bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field or equivalent combination of both. You should also have:
- In-depth knowledge of HR principles, practices and Canadian employment laws & regulations
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build rapport & collaborate at all levels
- Ability to handle sensitive & confidential information with utmost integrity and discretion.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems as well as proficiency in MS Office.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
