**Job Summary**:
The HSE Assistant will support the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Manager in implementing and maintaining safety programs and environmental policies. This role involves assisting with compliance monitoring, safety training, incident investigation, and the promotion of a culture of safety and environmental stewardship within the company.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Safety Compliance**: Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of HSE policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with Federal and local regulations.
- **Training Support**: Help organize and deliver safety training sessions and orientation for new employees, including topics related to hydrovac operations, equipment safety, and emergency response.
- **Incident Management**: Support the investigation of safety incidents and near-misses, including documentation, root cause analysis, and the development of corrective and preventive actions.
- **Safety Audits**: Assist in conducting regular safety audits and inspections of work sites and equipment to identify hazards and ensure adherence to safety standards.
- **Documentation**: Maintain accurate records related to safety incidents, training, inspections, and regulatory compliance. Prepare reports as required.
- **Safety Equipment**: Monitor and manage the inventory of safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE). Ensure that equipment is maintained and replaced as needed.
- **Environmental Compliance**: Assist in the implementation of environmental policies and practices, including waste management and spill response procedures.
- **Communication**: Foster a positive safety culture by communicating effectively with employees and management regarding safety concerns, best practices, and policy changes.
- **Emergency Response**: Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans, including participating in drills and training exercises.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: High school diploma or equivalent; an associate’s degree or technical diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred. NCSO designation certificate
- **Experience**: Previous experience in a safety role, preferably within the construction or transportation industry, is a plus.
- **Certifications**: NCSO Certified
- **Skills**:

- Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- **Physical Requirements**: Ability to perform physical tasks as needed, including inspecting work sites and handling safety equipment.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 40 per week
