Construction Estimator/quantity Surveyor

Penta Protective Coatings, a multi branch specialty trade subcontractor requires a commercial construction estimator for work in the ICI sector. We deal with exciting, cutting edge construction products that are on the forefront of building science and technology. Our suppliers are industry leaders with whom we’ve partnered to grow our business.

**Job Description**:

- review projects out for tender for relevant scopes of work
- issue RFI’s required pre tender as needed to clarify requirements
- issue RFE’s as required to meet technical specifications
- perform quantity take offs and bid workups for spray foam and blow in insulation, acoustic spray on, fireproofing, firestopping, waterproofing (all types), traffic and pedestrian membranes, epoxy flooring and coatings
- Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers and contractors
- Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads, set up cost monitoring and reporting systems,
- perform post bid filing and follow up
- prepare awarded project files for hand off to production

Qualifications:

- understanding of structural and architectural drawings and specifications
- excellent computer, organizational, communication skills.
- Familiarity with estimating software, spreadsheets, electronic plan rooms
- familiarity with different construction delivery methods and contract law as it relates to contractual terms and conditions
- understanding of risk assessment and management
- excellent problem solving abilities
