Quantity Surveyor

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and prepare accurate cost estimates across a broad range of commercial construction projects.
- Lead the tendering process, handling documentation, submissions, and liaisons with potential clients effectively.
- Work closely with project stakeholders—managers, engineers, architects—to ensure a thorough understanding of project scope and requirements.
- Evaluate contractors and suppliers, securing competitive pricing without compromising on quality.
- Maintain a meticulous tendering schedule to manage submissions and responses for multiple projects.
- Provide insightful analysis on tender outcomes to guide future improvement strategies.
- Negotiate contract terms to secure advantageous conditions for Atkinson Construction, ensuring all legal and compliance standards are met.
- Collaborate with the finance and legal departments to manage project budgets, cash flows, and risk assessments effectively.
- Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and technological advancements to refine the cost estimation and tendering processes continually.

**Qualifications**:

- A diploma or certificate in Construction Engineering Technology or a closely related field.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite; experience with Procore and SmartBid is advantageous, though not mandatory, as training will be provided.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work.
- Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation is beneficial but not required.
- Primarily office-based role with occasional travel required for pre-bid meetings and project assessments.
