The Fort Erie Fire Department’s vision is to be a dynamic organization respected for and dedicated to preserving life, property and the environment in our community. Our mission is to protect life, property and the environment through education, prevention, investigation, training, rescue, fire suppression, dangerous goods containment and life support services.

The Fort Erie Fire Department consists of four volunteer fire stations through the municipality each station is run by a volunteer District Fire Chief in conjunction with the Deputy and Fire Chief. The staff of the Fort Erie Fire Department is comprised of the Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chief, Senior Administrative Assistant, Administrative Clerk, Senior Fire Prevention Officer, Fire Prevention Officer and a Mechanical Officer.

The Deputy Fire Chief is directly responsible for the development and delivery of Department training programs; assists in leading and directing the organization, operation and strategic planning of the Department and delivery of fire and emergency services.

You will have a post-secondary education in Public Administration, Business Administration or Fire Services Management and continuing education from a recognized fire college or accredited organization. You will also have a Fire Officer III and Fire Instructor Level II certification, CEMC certification and five to ten years of progressively responsible leadership experience.

Compensation for this non-union position includes an annual salary of $102,589 - $123,107 and a comprehensive health and wellness benefits package.
