Responsibility for the leadership of a team to develop and implement the strategy, analytics and overall management of a Category of parts to support NFI Parts customer requirements. The Category Lead is responsible for developing and managing supplier relationships and sourcing strategies to ensure best overall cost, lead time and parts availability to meet Customer Service level expectations, while managing the total cost of ownership to NFI Parts.
**WHAT YOU WILL DO**:
- Responsible for leading all aspects of the strategic sourcing process for an assigned category including, but not limited to managing category profiles, developing sourcing strategies, execution of sourcing plans, and managing negotiations with Supplies.
- Takes primary accountability for establishing and achieving goals in the areas of Cost and Lead Time management and Category goals (eg. Savings targets, Supplier consolidation/reductions, base sourcing, new supply source etc.).
- Fully knowledgeable and responsible to cover for the buying functions/tasks as needed.
- Main point of contact for NFI Parts with Suppliers to build strong relationships while leveraging synergies with the Production business units in the NFI Group to ensure overall cost and performance objectives are met, while maintaining a collaborative approach to foster continuous improvement with supply base.
- Works closely with Customer Service and Business Development to identify new business opportunities, develop plans and assist in development of Supplier agreements to support new initiatives.
- Leads the Category team in monitoring and reporting of KPI’s and Supplier Scorecards to support the performance of the category.
- Responsible for the day to day supervision and development of Category Team Members.
- Lead cross-functional efforts to implement Supplier Performance programs to meet NFI Parts objectives.
- Develop and present quarterly Category Review results and observations.
- Assist in the development of category objectives for the Supply Chain annual operating plan.
- Maintain and update all Supplier information files and project lists on a regular basis and ensure part numbers categorization is updated and maintained.
- Conduct Supplier site visits and attend trade shows as required.
- Work closely with supporting cross functional areas to ensure optimal Supply Chain Performance.
**WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL**:
- Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain management or related field will be considered
- SCMA, ISM or APICS continuing education is beneficial
- Two or more years of experience in a leadership role
- Advanced knowledge in strategic sourcing, purchasing, negotiation and MRP
- Ability to lead and motivate a team within a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, analytic skills, detail oriented and self-motivated individual
- Proficient MS Office skills, in particular Excel and Word skills, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Knowledge of Oracle is an asset
