**Job Summary**
We are looking for a qualified Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to work in a shared General Surgeons' office in Chilliwack, BC. If you are a friendly, task-oriented individual with self-initiative please read below.
**Qualifications**
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Knowledge of health administrative practices and ability to adhere to privacy and organizational policies, procedures, and systems.
- Skill in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, patients and external agencies.
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of EMR's (Preferably Accuro).
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy environment.
- Ability to take initiative and to exercise sound judgement, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
- Able to be flexible and adapt to new or changing requirements.
- Knowledge of or experience with MSP, ICBC, & WCB billing codes and procedures.
**Clinical/Administrative Duties & Responsibilities**
- Open and close office, greet patients, provide directions and answer questions.
- Guide patients to fill out the appropriate paperwork, start patient charts and keep records current.
- Schedule patients and provide appointment reminders.
- EMR management: Scheduling, waitlist, patient records, and billings.
- Ensure documents/requisitions are completed (imaging, referrals, lab work) and results are added to the patient record.
- Coordinate consultations, diagnostic tests, follow up visits and procedure bookings (OR, Endoscopy, Ambulatory care).
- Provide patients with information/instructions, explain procedures/preparations and direct them to helpful resources.
- Assist with reviewing and submitting MSP, ICBC & WCB billing claims.
Monday-Thursday and/or Tuesday-Thursday, with availability to work remotely occasional Fridays 1-2 hours max. 8 hour days, flexible start time between 8-9am.
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 - 34 per week
