Location: Whitby Facility (Fabrication Plant)
Shift: Must be able to do a bi-weekly rotation between Day shift (6:45am-3:00pm) and Afternoon Shift (2:45pm-11:00pm)
Afternoon shift has a $0.50 shift premium on hours worked
Monday-Friday
- Occasional overtime may be needed

**Position Overview**:
The lead hand is responsible for the quality, volume and timeliness of goods produced, packed and shipped to the customer. They are responsible for directing the crew at every position, oversight and assessment of the work, training and coaching of the crew to achieve finished goods on time, and consistent with customer demands. The lead hand will provide oversight, assessment, and training of the crew(s).
**Essential Job functions and Responsibilities**:
- Complete Work Orders
- Manage Employee timekeeping
- Assign Daily Work
- Material Handling
- Corrective Action/Performance Evaluations
- Responsible for 10-15 direct reports
**Education/ Work Experience Requirements**:
- Highschool Diploma or GED Required
- Technical school degree preferred
- 3-5 years of related work experience is needed to effectively perform the job’s responsibilities
- 3-5 years of experience moving material and loading/unloading trucks with a forklift required
- Experience using various measuring tools
**Abilities / Skills**:
- Must have a strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to manage behavior concerns and implement the progressive discipline process
- Able to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawing
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports, correspondence and speak effectively before groups of employees of the organization.
