Superior Facility Services is a family owned business providing environmental services to long term care and retirement homes for over 30 years. We are currently searching for a Housekeeping Lead (Supervisor) at one of our Whitby Ontario locations.

Under the direction of the Regional Manager the Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible and accountable for managing an effective housekeeping department with the main focus on ensuring the delivery of quality service for the facility, residents, and staff. The housekeeping supervisor is also responsible for performing housekeeping and laundry duties as part of daily activities, as required.

**Duties**:

- Organizes and assists in managing all aspects of the housekeeping department within the facility
- Participates in selection, evaluation, promotion and termination of environmental employees
- Responsible for formulation and upkeep of department policies and procedures, goals, objectives, performance appraisals, etc.
- Participates in the orientation process for residents, staff, volunteers, and students;
- Participates on local and provincial committees for the facility
- Maintains records in accordance with the policies and procedures and government regulations for the facility
- To perform basic hands-on housekeeping and light maintenance duties associated with the facility’s operation.
- Conducts various audits within the department and maintains documentation as required
- Follows, trains and enforces Infection Control procedures in accordance with corporate policy, public health and various other regulatory agencies.

Qualifications:

- Experience as a professional housekeeper 2- 3 years;
- Proven hands on light maintenance experience
- Proven Supervisory experience 1 -2 years;
- Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act;
- Working knowledge of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS);
- Must be adaptable and flexible;
- Must possess patience and tact;
- Must be able to multi-task;
- Must be organized and able to set priorities;
- Must have a genuine interest in the care of the elderly;
- Ability to obtain a clear vulnerable sector criminal record check; and
- Must have effective English skills, written and verbal.
- Experience in unionized environment and familiarity with CBA's is considered an asset.
