**Position**

Financial Bookkeeper (Temporary) - month to month

**General Purpose**

The Financial Bookkeeper is responsible for the administration of the Financial Department including maintaining the set of financial books and records of Family Service Kent, and responsible for recording and processing financial transactions, including: operating and capital budgets, monthly accounting, financial planning and reporting. The Financial Bookkeeper is required to support their supervisor and other team members in delivering service to people, and will model the organizational values.

The Financial Bookkeeper will respect and uphold the Values, Mission, and Vision of Family Service Kent, demonstrating the highest standards of courtesy and respect in their dealings with other employees, clients, and both internal and external stakeholders.

**Job Duties**
- Coordinate all activities within the Finance Department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, payroll, special projects accounting, and financial reporting.
- Fact-checking accounting information.
- Record all business transactions, process accruals and adjustments, reconcile accounts and prepare monthly accounting statements.
- Ensure that all month-end financial accounting duties and all resulting financial reporting is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepare federal and provincial financial reports as needed.
- Perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Participate in financial planning activities as required.
- Provide support in the development of business proposals as required.
- Other duties as required.

**Job Specifications**

2 years experience with bookkeeping duties

Advanced degree in math, statistics or finance

Familiarity with the general principles of accounting

Experience with Adagio an asset

**Work Conditions**

14 to 24 hours/week

flexible schedule; possible hybrid option

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 14-24 per week

**Salary**: $30.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Chatham, ON N7M 6K7
