When onboarding new clients our associates will dynamically engineer accounting processes to meet the unique needs of the business. Our system includes standardization, documentation, transparency, and cross training co-workers for redundancy. This will range from supplementing the current accounting department to full financial corporate controllership.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Preparation of Notice to Reader financial statements and tax returns in accordance with Firm standards for clients in a variety of Canadian businesses and individuals.
- Accounting, Bookkeeping, and Payroll functions as well as assisting clients with set-up and maintenance of corporate records.
- Calculation and Preparation of government compliance filings such as HST, Source Deductions, EHT, and WSIB.
- Effective communication with our clients, government agencies, and with our staff & managers.
- Occasional travel to client locations.
- Keeping managers and other team members informed, on an ongoing basis of progress and significant issues.
- Providing advice and training to other staff members.
- Identify new business opportunities with existing clients.
- Participate in new business development initiatives.
**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or business, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience (preferably public accounting), including financial statement and Canadian corporate tax preparation.
- A high level of integrity, attention to detail, be great with people and an have excellent work ethic.
- Previous experience working with CaseWare/CaseView, Profile, Sage, QBO, QuickBooks, ERP, Microsoft 365 and various other accounting or financial software.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Sound decision-making ability and professional judgment.
- Works effectively, independently and in a team environment.
- Knowledge of personal income tax (T1) is an asset.
**Location**
This position is based in-person at our Park Ave office in Chatham-Kent, ON.
**Schedule**
This position follows a day shift schedule, with work hours from Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
