**Location**:Windsure Adventure Watersports at Jericho Beach, Vancouver BC

**Duration**:May 1, 2025 - September 2, 2025 (seasonal) + training dates in mid-late April

**Hours**: Part Time, up to 30 hours/week

**Compensation**: $20/hour

**What you’ll do**:
We are looking for a Paddleboarding Instructor + Programs Coordinator to join our energetic and outdoor-loving team This position will teach our introductory Discover Paddleboarding programs. While these classes are geared towards adults, youth do enroll from time-to-time. If no classes are scheduled, time will be spent maintaining and repairing equipment. There is also an opportunity to teach private lessons, and specialty programs throughout the week. We are very open to accepting out of country explorers to our team.

Some examples of the daily tasks of a Paddleboarding Instructor + Programs Coordinator would include:

- Teach paddleboarding lessons including: preparation of equipment, discussing different board/paddle types, wetsuit & life jacket fitting, learning debrief, continued learning options
- Update and implement Discover Paddleboarding, summer camp, and special workshops class lesson plans/curriculum, tailor private lessons according to guest interest
- Revise safety components of the lesson including: self rescue demo, boundaries and other hazards such as tide, current, and weather predictions
- Teach and mentor other instructors, service staff on paddleboarding skills and knowledge
- Review and implementation of paddleboarding curriculum for all levels of paddleboarding instruction
- Exceptional knowledge of all paddleboarding equipment and parts from all major brands
- Take regular inventory and ensure proper organization of paddleboarding equipment and parts
- Maintain and carry out equipment repairs as needed, advise on product ordering
- Lead the sale of used paddleboarding equipment
- Organize and coordinate our paddleboard programs: Silver SUPers, Sunrise Paddle, Season’s Pass Members Social Paddles, Discover Paddleboarding Lessons, Youth leadership program, Paddle Canada Certification Courses, Paddleboarding summer camp programs
- Develop new programs for 2025 and beyond

**You’re a good fit if you**:

- Love being outside and active, especially on the water
- Are proficient in one or more of our watersports (the more, the better)
- Know how to create memorable customer and learning experience
- Have an understanding and/or curiosity of race, gender, BIPOC, LGBTQ2SIA+ and climate justice issues and are committed to creating safe community spaces

**What we’re looking for**:

- Knowledge and appreciation of paddleboarding, including equipment maintenance and repair
- Paddleboarding teaching experience
- Able to lift and carry minimum 50 lbs
- Fluent spoken English
- Pleasure Craft Operating Card (PCOC) or willingness to get it
- Valid First Aid Training
- Valid Criminal Record Check or willingness to get one
- Able to work in Canada
- Paddle Canada Certification (or equivalent) or willingness to get it is required. Must be completed prior to start date.
