HR Policy and Project Analyst

**Job Description**:
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
The HR Policy and Project Analyst reports to the Director, Clinical Risk Management & Policy Stewardship and is responsible for providing project coordination leadership and business support services for the HR services team and HR policies. The HR Policy and Project Analyst is responsible for identifying process improvement initiatives, supporting efforts to continually improve on the high quality of service, ensuring optimum coordination and integration between different stakeholders participating in projects, obtaining policy information from a variety of sources and consulting with a range of stakeholders to support policy development and implementation. Contributes to creating a strong team environment by fostering trust and mutual respect, and supporting open dialogue on issues that allow for the optimization of the departments projects and strategic goals and leverages change leadership skills to enable best practices and HR policy improvement.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Health or Business Administration or a related field, plus a minimum of four (4) years recent related experience in a project coordinator role in a health, government or community organization.
**Skills And Abilities**:
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally.
- Ability to navigate complex health care systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to reconcile differing perspectives, develop consensus, and secure cooperation and support from both customers and team members.
- Ability to resolve conflicts arising within the project team or in interactions with customers in the most advantageous manner to all parties involved.
- Ability to manage change and assist others with adapting to change.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
- Demonstrated computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Outlook, and Edge).
