Accounts Receivable/credit Specialist

Payzant Building Products is a locally owned company known for our commitment to quality. In a phase of exciting growth, we are looking to enrich our credit team with an **Accounts Receivable/Credit Specialist.** This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and has a passion for financial accuracy and efficiency.
This is a full-time, permanent role, based in our head office in Lower Sackville, NS. You will report to the Credit Manager and be a key player in the credit department. This is an intermediate-senior position with room for growth and training. The main focus will be processing payments on customer accounts, accurately and assisting with customer inquiries.. assessment of credit and a degree of collections communications. This position requires a professional who can combine excellent communication skills with a precise, analytical approach to financial and collections management.
**What will you be responsible for?**
- Reconciliation of customer accounts
- Record daily transactions
- Investigate billing disputes, and work with sales and customer service teams to resolve.
- Assist with regular customer account maintenance including system settings.
- Is familiar with interpreting and processing credit reports and granting credit to customers.
- Assist in the management of accounts receivable, including monitoring of outstanding balances and ensuring timely collections, and report regularly to management on the status.
- Keep accurate records of customer interactions, track and follow up accordingly
- Other duties as required.
**What are we looking for?**
- Qualifications_
- Business certificate and/or training in accounts receivable/collections preferred.
- 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role described above.
- Skills_
- Great time management, analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Strong financial and business acumen matched with an ability to effectively communicate.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work independently but collaboratively.
- Desire to continuously improve and adapt to a changing environment.
- Excellent communication, active listening, and follow-up skills.
