As the Safety & HR Manager, in collaboration with the executive and management team, you play an integral role to our Health and Safety and DATS program. support the attraction, growth, development, retention for employees through our QMS training matrix.

**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Administer and maintain workplace safety programs, ensuring compliance with OH&S regulations.
- Investigate incidents/accidents and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation.
- Develop and implement strategic HR initiatives aligned with the company's goals and objectives
- Participate in the creation and ongoing improvement of HR and payroll processes, policies, and programs: Providing guidance and support to the employees.
- Collaborate with Team Leads in the recruitment and hiring processes, including building job descriptions, job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding
- Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
- Collaborate with GATEWAY’S third-party safety management company, scheduling safety audits, keeping the management team up to date on changes to the safety program.
- Conduct regular training and development programs to enhance employee skills and promote career advancement
- Assist the Payroll Administer and administer the benefits programs and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies
- Collaborate with department leaders to identify staffing needs and develop workforce planning strategies
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to HR activities, including employee files and payroll information.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in HR management and implement changes as needed
- Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and management on HR-related matters
- Assist with daily scheduling and vacation requests

**ROLE QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in safety and human resources management.
- Strong knowledge of Alberta employment laws and regulations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with employees at all levels
- Proven history of developing and implementing safety and HR policies and programs that drive employee engagement and retention
- Experience with DATS systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information with discretion
