**Summary of Position**:Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Office & HR Assistant will support HR functions and programs for the company's employees, as well as support the general office by providing general office assistance as may be required for other departments.
**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Support and assist the accounting department with data entry, general postings, invoicing and filing as required.
- Assist in Recruitment efforts by preparing and posting job advertisements, screening resumes, and coordinating interviews
- Assist in first day orientation of new employees.
- Assist in recording of time and attendance information in time and attendance software
- Assist in the coordination and administration of health and safety activities for the organization, including planning and organizing health and safety training and education for workers as required.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of employee files and HR database, including the collection of employee information
- Assist in the administration of group benefits, including enrollment of employees and updating employment status or changes to records as may be required.
- Assist with the planning, set-up and execution of employee events such as annual summer bbq; service awards; holiday events, etc.
- Support other ad hoc human resource functions as assigned
- Assist in the sourcing and procurement of general office supplies; ensuring general office supplies and coffee supplies are replenished promptly
- Reception coverage & back up.
- Support other departments such as marketing or customer service to perform general office functions or to assist in set up of lunch and learn events, as may be assigned from time to time
Skills & Qualifications:
- 2 years experience in General office & Human Resource functions
- High attention to detail, and will to take initiative and work independently when needed
- Reliable with a personable and positive demeanor who promotes employee engagement and a positive workplace culture
- Enjoys working in a multicultural environment and engaging with a diverse range of individuals to ensure employee requirements and needs are met.
- Professional integrity, sense of responsibility and accountability and the ability to handle information with a high degree of **confidentiality.**:
- Ability to communicate effectively; advanced communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent organization and
- Fluent in English
