Highly motivated and committed to contributing to a system that is responsible for educating our future, you will work within a team that supports Senior Staff, Principals, Vice-Principals, and employees in a variety of areas, ensuring our schools are staffed daily.

The Absence Management Coordinator is responsible for the administration of the automated dispatch system, providing leadership and direction to employees and site administrators, as well as collecting, investigating, analyzing, and interpreting information regarding work patterns and absenteeism with respect to Board employees, providing advice and recommendations to the Superintendent of Human Resources for purposes of absence management, grievance administration and collective bargaining.

Your leadership and oversight of the Dispatch System, includes controlling configuration, establishing security rights, providing access rights to users, managing registrations and profiles, authorizing, and verifying system output and ensuring system integrity through ongoing monitoring and maintenance of the system. You will also troubleshoot and report technical problems to the service provider, following up with schools, employees, and occasional/casual staff as necessary.

The Limestone District School Board is situated in historic Kingston, on the shores of scenic Lake Ontario, the Limestone District School Board serves more than 19,000 students in 55 schools and 5 alternative education centres, covering a geographic area of 7,719 square kilometres across the City of Kingston, the Townships of Central Frontenac, North Frontenac, South Frontenac, Addington Highlands, Loyalist, Stone Mills, the Frontenac Islands and the Town of Greater Napanee.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience

Post secondary diploma in Human Resource Management or related field or an equivalent level of education/training and at least 2 years of relevant, related experience.

Demonstrated leadership skills.

Exceptional customer service orientation with a focus on results.

Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to foster positive relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Experience working in a unionized environment, including interpreting, and administering policies/procedures, collective agreements, participating in labour-management meetings, and supporting grievance and arbitration processes.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.

Proven ability to exercise sound judgement.

Excellent time management and organization skills.

Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities and system needs.

'Proven ability to think outside the box, exploring new and innovative ways to achieve optimal results.
