Human Resources Coordinator

The DMS Group is currently seeking a **Human Resources Coordinator **to join our team in North York. Under the direction of the HR manager, the Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with the administrative and operations of the HR team and providing support to enable the management team to achieve or exceed the goals and key performance indicator targets of the company.
As a member of the human resources team, the key responsibilities of the **Human Resources Coordinator** include but are not limited to:
- Coordinate with government-funded agencies, recruitment agencies, and placements programs throughout the year
- Facilitate the onboarding processes for new employees including arrival preparation and first-day orientations
- Coordinate drafting and sending out new hire packages and training checklists to new employees
- Maintain recruitment workbooks on vacancies, new hire and turnover reports, and government reimbursements
- Assist HR Manager in ensuring that DMS is in conformance with all regulatory requirements for Health and Safety including assisting with:
- Regular Joint Health and Safety committee meetings; documenting minutes of meetings and posting as required; Coordinate training as required for committee members
- Assist in submitting Workplace Injury Claims (WSIB) process
- Conduct health and safety walkthroughs within the workplace and provide recommendations
- Ensure Health and Safety posters are updated with the latest policy changes and information
- Assist Property Managers and site staff with providing health and safety equipment including first-aid kits, OHSA Green books, and posters
- Assist with compiling and filing HR paperwork. Maintain records of personnel-related data (payroll, personal information, leaves, turnover rates, etc.) in both paper and the database and ensure all employment requirements are met
- Monitor all vacation requests and ensure that complete documentation is in place for all staff.
- Ensure that HRIS is complete and up to date with the latest information
- Support daily HR activities and assist in coordinating HR policies, processes, and relevant documents.
- Assist with the distribution of HR-related invoices to the right Accounting personnel
- Administering the benefits plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations and reconciling benefits statements.
- Coordinate both industry and job-specific training for all staff
- Respond to employee inquiries in a timely manner and escalate when necessary
- Help with coordinating and planning corporate events such as annual Christmas Party, Summer Picnic, Birthdays, etc.
- Other assignments within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job as reasonably requested from time to time by management.
**Desired Skills and Experience**
- 1-2 years experience in Human Resources.
- Completion of 3-year bachelor's degree or a 3-year work-related Diploma program is required
- Effective HR administration and people management skills.
- Full understanding of HR functions and best practices.
- Experience with HRIS/payroll software is an asset - experience with ADP Workforce Now is a strong asset
- Knowledge of payroll processes would be a good asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
- Fantastic organizational and time management skills. Ability to meet deadlines proficiently.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment.
