**JOB TITLE**:
Production Control & Materials Specialist
**ABOUT US**:
We are a climate controlled Japanese Automotive Parts Manufacturer in the St. Thomas, ON region and are seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and qualified Production Control & Materials Specialist to assist and support the Team by being primarily responsible for forecasting and ordering all raw material and sub-components to ensure all departments have what is required to meet all customer demands. The position is also responsible for providing all necessary information as it pertains to inventory analysis, tracking, forecasting, and production scheduling.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:
1. *Provides sub-component suppliers forecast data on a monthly basis (or as required by them) to ensure stable product flow and availability for both mass production and service requirements.
2. *Provides steel supplier forecast data on a monthly basis (or as required by them) to ensure stable material flow and availability for both mass production and service requirements.
3. *Responsible for the submission of all purchase order requests to the purchasing specialist for all raw material and sub-components required for mass production and service requirements.
4. *Ensures that all service part forecast data is up to date and available in advance. Considerations made to extended lead times, special orders, etc.
5. *Responsible for ensuring accuracy of ordering/carrying the appropriate amount of inventory to support manufacturing requirements while ensuring that overstock is kept to a minimum.
6. *Ensures that the customer requirement information on the cycle count documents are updated and accurate to ensure production is being scheduled appropriately.
7. *Assists in month end cycle counts to ensure accuracy and allows for the period to be closed out in a timely fashion.
8. *Assists manufacturing in scheduling manpower/machines/cells to ensure that customer demands will be met on a continual basis.
9. *Responsible for assisting in developing abnormal production schedules outside of the current kanban production system. This includes but not limited to ECI changes, new model line fill, old model run out, inventory location moves, etc.).
10. *Conducts daily cycle counts of steel coils to ensure inventory levels are appropriate.
11. *Conducts weekly cycle counts of sub components to ensure inventory levels are appropriate.
12. *Work closely with the Systems Senior Specialist to ensure that the kanbans, signals, lot sizes, etc. are all accurate and according to demand.
13. Brings forth suggestions and recommendations for improvements.
14. Has proficient working knowledge of the EDI system.
15. Promotes Health & Safety.
16. Assists with the 4S improvements.
17. Enhances the communications within the department and the plant.
18. Attendance and punctuality.
19. Other related tasks as assigned.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
1. Must have high school diploma or G.E.D.
2. Post-secondary education with a focus on Materials, Inventory and Operations Management is an asset.
3. Three to five years’ experience in related role.
5. Proven leadership and management ability with strong interpersonal skills and communication skills to carry out programs directed to the fulfillment of business and departmental objectives.
6. Working knowledge of MS Office an asset.
7. Must be a team player and self-starter with excellent language and communication skills, who pays attention to accuracy and detail.
8. Must possess excellent time management, multi-tasking, organizational, prioritization, and adaptability skills to effectively provide departmental support in an effective and efficient manner.
9. Previous experience working within in an automotive parts supplier an asset.
