Platinum Pooch Salon in Kitchener is hiring We’re growing quickly and looking for an amazing person to join our team working in a crate free and wait free pet grooming salon. The team is a small supportive group of women who will help you become a professional pet stylist.

As an apprentice, you will be taught how to:

- Groom dogs start to finish according to breed or client specifications in a timely fashion;
- Tidy of the grooming area to maintain a safe and clean workspace;
- Maintain your grooming tools to ensure quality performance;
- Give advice to clients regarding pet coat maintenance;
- Keep detailed records of services provided to each customer via GroomSoft.
- Check in and cash out customers.
- Answer phones, add clients to the system and book appointments.
- Assist in salon maintenance during down times.

*Beginner shears, clippers, blades and brushes will be provided but you will eventually need to purchase your own as you find out what you prefer and what works best for you.*

**Requirements**:

- 5+ years in a customer service role
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
- Saturdays 8-3 are a must, Rotating Saturday off between employees. We’re closed Sundays and Monday
- Willingness to purchase your own grooming tools over time as needed.
- Excited to learn new skills
- Punctual and reliable
- Pet First Aid is an asset
- Animal handling experience is an asset.

**Salary**: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Every Weekend
