Overview

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Dog Groomer to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a commitment to providing exceptional grooming services. This role involves not only grooming pets but also ensuring their overall well-being and comfort during the grooming process. The Dog Groomer will work closely with pet owners to understand their needs and provide the best care for their furry companions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling for various breeds of dogs and other pets.
  • Assess the condition of pets' coats and skin, identifying any health issues that may require veterinary attention.
  • Handle animals safely and effectively, using appropriate restraint techniques to ensure their comfort.
  • Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding grooming options and aftercare.
  • Keep detailed records of each pet's grooming history, preferences, and any special needs.
  • Assist with animal handling during appointments, ensuring a positive experience for both pets and their owners.
  • Collaborate with team members to create a welcoming environment for all clients.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in pet grooming required. (Certification an asset)
  • Strong skills in animal handling, including dog training and restraint techniques.
  • Familiarity with various breeds' grooming needs and styles.
  • Experience in customer service, demonstrating strong communication skills with pet owners.
  • Ability to handle all breeds/sized and lift heavy dogs as needed, ensuring safety for both the groomer and the pet.
  • Previous experience in kennel settings or animal care environments is a plus.
