- The Recruitment Coordinator performs duties and tasks related to the full cycle recruitment process for internal and external job competitions; maintains recruitment tools and resources, and related reports and spreadsheets. In collaboration with the Recruitment Advisor and People Services team, provides recruitment expertise and support to hiring leaders or departments and ensures the staffing needs of the College are met in a timely manner.**Job Duties/Responsibilities**
- Collaborates with hiring managers on recruitment planning meetings, ensuring approval of staffing and budgets are in place, and discussing the recruitment strategies and timelines.
- Confirms suitability of strategies with Recruitment Advisor and works with the People Services Associates.
- Administers skills assessments and coordinates creation of pre-employment assessments.
- Ensures that all members of the selection committee understand their roles, including confidentiality and compliance with legislation.
- Participates on selection committees and ensures compliance to applicable legislation, College policies and collective agreements.
- Manages and maintains Clerical Support On-Call pool to assign work on an as-needed basis.
- Prepares reference templates and may assist with performing reference and background checks..
- Participates and collaborates with Recruitment Advisor in attending and preparing for career fairs.
- Authorize (where delegated) or recommends initial salary placement within established guidelines. Consults with Recruitment Advisor and other People Services colleagues on placement when placements are outside established guidelines as appropriate.
- Assists in gathering information and records to help with grievances associated to the recruitment process.
- Works with Compensation and Classification to maintain and update job posting templates in applicant tracking system.
- Collaborates with the Recruitment Advisor and HRIS Administrator to develop and track recruitment metrics.
- Provides other recruitment related reporting as required including external agencies such as Statistics Canada.
- Recommends improvements to VCC recruitment systems and processes with the desire to create effective and efficient systems that meet the needs of the College.
- Participates in People Services projects as required.
- Performs other related duties as required.

**Qualifications**

**Education and Experience**
- HR Diploma or Degree in a relevant field.
- Two (2) to three (3) years of recent related experience in recruitment in a post secondary and/or a large complex multi-site multi-union environment.
- Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) a desirable asset.
- Knowledge of human resources legislation and professional practices relating to labour relations, recruitment, HR planning and development and compensation.
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

**Skills and Abilities**
- Demonstrated consultation and facilitation skills are required to collaborate with hiring managers.
- Excellent communication and interviewing skills and the ability to deal tactfully and diplomatically with employees from all levels of the College.
- Works with diverse academic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of the VCC community, students and staff.
- Customer service focused with strong relationship building skills.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills that are solutions-focused.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize workload, and manage conflicting priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment with mínimal supervision.
- Proven ability to exercise judgement, tact, and discretion in preparing, disclosing, and handling information of a confidential and/or sensitive nature.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and to work on a team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
