**A day in the life of Accounts Payable Supervisor**:

- Primary support for the Accounts Payable Manager
- Coach and guide a team of five (5) Accounts payable Analyst
- Manage the day-to-day operational needs of the Accounts Payable Team.
- Manage the Accounts Payable team to ensure payments to carriers and suppliers are made on time and accurately as per T &C’s
- Be the first point of escalations for Accounts Payable and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Evaluate process shortfalls, gaps within AP both internal and external and recommend process changes with assistance and approval of Manager
- Provide timely updates to claims department to mitigate risks for the company
- Oversee reconciliation of supplier’s accounts
- Ensure team obtains proper authorization approval before invoice entry and payment
- Ensure all urgent payment requests are addressed in a timely manner
- Prepare SOPs (as needed) for team with the approval from Manager
- Posting of journal entries at month ends.
- Act as SME for NetSuite for future enhancements
- Support absence for direct reports
- Provide support, workload prioritization and eensure proper coverage are in place for the AP team.
- Oversee reconciliation of credit card accounts and ensure timely payments are made.
- Bi-weekly and monthly reconciliations of large vendor accounts.
- Communicate with various internal and external stakeholders (suppliers, departments, and branches) providing solutions to payment updates, discrepancies, and enquiries.
- Verify that proper supporting documentation are in order before requesting approval from manager for payment.
- Effectively communicate regarding payment escalations, ensuring that expectations are met within the stipulated turnaround time.
- Responsible for special projects assigned by Accounts Payable Manager
- Creating a professional and pleasant working environment that inspires the team.

**Requirements**:

- Must have 4-5 years of Accounts Payable Supervisory experience preferably in a high-volume environment in the transportation industry
- Experience in NetSuite, 3GTMS and Triumph Pay would be an asset.
- Post-Secondary education, degree in accounting, or equivalent.
- Demonstrate computer software proficiency with Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills would be a strong asset.
- Strong organizational skills to meet multiple deadlines, prioritize and execute multiple tasks, while maintaining attention to detail.
- Willingness to take initiative
- Flexibility and adaptability to manage increased volume of work.
- Desire to take ownership of tasks assigned and willingness to learn.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to work effectively with limited supervision within a fast-paced team environment.
