**THE POSITION**

If you have strong customer service and communication skills, and previous experience working in an optical environment, we would love to meet you. Reporting to our **Store Manager**, the **Optician **works with our customers to find the most suitable eyewear for their needs — recommending specific eyewear, taking measurements, fitting and adjusting glasses, and teaching customers to properly wear and care for their glasses or contact lenses.

**WHAT YOU’LL DO**
- Obtain patient prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists
- Take customer information and measurements of the ocular area
- Recommend frames or contact lenses that suit the customer's style, face, and specifications
- Adjust and fit frames according to the prescriptions and customer's specifications, as well as to suit the customer's face
- Prepare work orders for the optical technicians to use to manufacture the lenses
- Use specialized equipment, such as calipers, lensometers, and lens gauges
- Keep inventory on frames and contact lenses to ensure product variety and customer satisfaction
- Repair broken frames
- Educate customers on how to wear and maintain glasses and contact lenses
- Perform administrative duties, such as managing prescriptions, customer records, and insurance

**WHO YOU ARE**
- You have previous on-the-job training and experience in clinical work
- You have the ability to operate specialized equipment
- You have excellent customer service skills and sales ability
- Previous experience working in an optical environment is an asset
