**In this role, you will**:
- Conduct thorough, professional and detailed intake calls for registration of the program
- Provide leadership to Camp Directors, Camper Care Leads and Accessibility & Inclusion Counsellors through training, coaching and monitoring performance throughout the summer
- Plan and facilitate high-quality training to Day Camp staff prior to the beginning of camp
- Work closely with the Contact Centre to review and place campers into the Accessibility and Inclusion program
- Provide participant profiles, camper program information, and additional information to the required camps and staff prior to the week of the child attending camp
- Collect, review, and file documentation accurately and in a timely manner inclusive of; documenting behaviours, communication and withdraws
- Communicate with childcare supervisors and staff on a need-to-know basis to ensure the best customer service and experience for camper and family
- Responsible for attending all staff trainings and meetings; arriving on time, and actively participating and contributing to the development of all camp staff
- Ensure Health & Safety procedures are being followed and maintained and contribute to the cleaning, safety and maintenance to camp sites
- Act as a positive role model for the campers and fellow staff through embodying the YMCA values, policies and procedures, Day Camp conditions of employment/guidelines and the Ontario Camping Association standards
**You bring**:
- Post-secondary education (or currently enrolled in) working with children with disabilities or behavioural needs; _Early Childhood Education Advanced Studies in Special Needs, Child and Youth Studies, Therapeutic Recreation or Social Work (preferred)_
- Standard First Aid and CPR ‘C’ certificate valid until the last day of contract
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a child-oriented programs
- Experience as a supervisor an asset
- Experience working with children and youth with disabilities in recreation and leisure programs; camp experience preferred
- Daily access to a vehicle and valid license and ability to travel within the GTA
- Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
- Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with families, staff and volunteers
- Excellent communication skillsand ability to lead a group of children
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and building a sense of belonging
