- In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, the Lead of Security Systems and Technology, Protection Services is accountable to the Regional Director, Protection Service. The Lead will direct special projects and initiatives under the Protection Services portfolio that may be site
- specific, organization-wide, or working together with counterparts in other organizations. The Lead will act as an internal design consultant for renovations and capital projects ensuring NH facilities are safe yet accessible and poised to support patient-centered care initiatives while taking into account limitations of the facility, its infrastructure, and technology capabilities. The Lead will be responsible for the development, implementation, and management of a master plan for Northern Health’s (NH) electronic security systems and will take a leadership role in assessing requirements, developing specifications, and procuring security technology while providing organizational direction in this regard. The Lead will maintain linkages and regularly communicate with internal stakeholders such as Information Technology, Capital Planning, Plant Services, NH Property Management, Workplace Health & Safety, and site leadership. Additionally, the Lead will maintain relationships with third party groups including, but not limited to, industry peers, and security technology vendors.
- Starting salary will be approximately from $86,398 to $107,997 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

**Qualifications**:

- A bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, technology, building design, criminology, or a related discipline and specialized training in protection services or criminology.
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in security/protection services, preferably in a healthcare environment, with specific experience around electronic security systems, building design consultation, and project management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA) designation through IAHSS is preferred.
- Education and training in investigations, threat assessments, Health Emergency Incident Command System (HEICS), and/or Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED).

**Skills and Abilities**:

- Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills in a complex environment.
- Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to facilitate and negotiate.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
- Working knowledge of appropriate legislation
