**JOB SUMMARY**

The Business and Technical Support Services Branch is responsible for providing strategic, business, technical and other operational support services through a centralized branch that consolidates and streamlines the delivery of specialized business supports and services to an assigned department.
- On behalf of one or more of the department’s Service areas, you develop, implement and evaluate stakeholder engagement, communications and event plans of moderate to high complexity/sensitivity/risk. You also provide specialized advice in these areas, and support strategic communications, media relations and issues management for the department and Service area(s).

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**

4-year degree in Communications, Public Relations or other related field.
- 5 years of experience planning, developing and evaluating stakeholder engagement, communications and event plans, and leading their implementation.

**CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES**
- Valid Ontario unrestricted G class driver’s licence (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerit points accumulated

**KNOWLEDGE**
- Communications and stakeholder engagement concepts, principles, methods and tactics
- Tools and technologies relevant to virtual and in-person communications, stakeholder engagements and events (e.g. social media, Zoom, MS Teams, Engage Ottawa, etc.)
- Event planning and management
- Industry trends and developments
- Project management
- General knowledge of the Corporation, departmental and service area business requirements, policies and organizational structure
- Legislation, policies, regulations, guidelines, procedures, issues and trends relevant to the department
- Microsoft Office suite
- Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers

**COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- Able to work independently, with minimum support/direction, and cooperatively and collaboratively with all staff as part of a team
- Able to plan, lead and complete assigned projects and initiatives within set timelines
- Organizational skills
- Able to balance multiple demands and conflicting priorities
- Research and analytical skills
- Strong communications skills (verbal and written) Solid interpersonal skills**WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW**
- Language Requirement: English oral, reading, writing
- Driver’s License Requirement: A valid Ontario unrestricted G class driver’s license (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerit points accumulated
- Experience and formal training combined with demonstrated performance and ability may substitute for stipulated academic requirements.
