The project coordinator is responsible for providing support to the project manager, ensuring that the technical and administrative requirements are executed in a timely and efficient manner. The project coordinator supports the efforts of internal departments, site personnel and the company as a whole to deliver our projects on time and on budget. This position must demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.
Essential
**Responsibilities**:
- Understand architectural drawings, make material take-offs, interpret specifications
- Ensure shop drawings are approved and fabrication drawings and releases are completed accurately and in a timely fashion.
- As required, provide support by completing fabrication releases or shop drawings modifications.
- Draft and submit RFI’s to the client as directed by the PM
- Assemble and document material submittals and track approvals ensuring project schedules are not adversely impacted
- Obtain quotes from suppliers, order raw materials in accordance with estimate / budget and issue material requisitions for the same
- Document all approvals for the project including:
- Engineering stamped plans
- Change orders as they arise
- Final sign off
- Warranty issues
- Maintain detailed and organized records of all project documents and ensure information flow between departments and other relevant parties
- Coordinate site measurements with the site supervisors and manage communication and information from the site to the drafting department
- Attend site meetings with general contractors as directed by the PM.
- Maintain up to date and current product knowledge on all products offered.
- Other related duties as required
Skills/Qualifications:
- A three-year degree in building envelope science is preferred or equivalent experience in construction management.
- Working knowledge of customary construction contract language and provisions (subcontract agreements, supply agreements, etc.).
- Proven ability to read architectural and shop drawings.
- Understand project specs, construction documents, and perform complete window and door take-offs
- Experience as AutoCAD drafter; certification
- Incredible attention to detail.
- Strong skills using excel spreadsheets and formulas.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong software experience, with preference for working knowledge of MS Project, Smartsheet, SAGE300 CRE.
- Proficient in MS Office (Especially Word, Excel), Adobe Acrobat PDF Documents
