**Overview**
The Specialist, Technical Helpline (Bilingual) provides technical expertise to our network of dealership technicians and serves as a key resource for internal departments. You will provide critical technical guidance to dealership technicians, helping them diagnose and repair Subaru vehicles efficiently. This role is crucial to achieving the After Sales goal of service excellence, which in turn promotes customer retention and brand loyalty. The incumbent will report to the Manager, Service Operations and will be based out of Subaru Canada’s regional office in Saint-Laurent, Québec.
**Responsibilities**
- Assists dealer Service Managers and Technicians in resolving difficult technical issues on Subaru vehicles that dealer technicians are unable to diagnose or repair.
- Attends training courses to keep up to date on all new technical developments.
- Provide support to Warranty, Parts, Customer Care, and Quality Assurance departments as required.
- Provide month-end report of dealer file closing to management.
- Assist with the annual Master Technician Competition.
- Assist with retrofits and willing to perform other “projects” as required.
- Assists the After Sales team with tasks which need to be managed through the Technical Helpline department (e.g. part restrictions, recalls, etc.).
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
**Required Skills / Attributes**:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French.
- Strong electronic/electrical diagnosis skills.
- Exceptional skills in technical product problem resolutions.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
**Qualifications**:
- Provincial Licensed Automotive Technician required.
- Hands-on experience as a technician at a Japanese/Import automotive dealership is preferred.
- Subaru knowledge and experience is an asset but not required.
- Valid provincial driver’s license.
- A high school diploma is required. Post-secondary education in Automotive Technology or a related field is a plus.
**Physical Conditions**:
- Flexible work schedule & extra hours when required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Bending, lifting, and walking.
- Sedentary - extended use of a computer.
- Minimal travel may be required.

Le spécialiste, assistance technique (bilingue) fournit une expertise technique à notre réseau de techniciens concessionnaires et constitue une ressource clé pour les services internes. Vous fournirez des conseils techniques essentiels aux techniciens des concessionnaires, en les aidant à diagnostiquer et à réparer efficacement les véhicules Subaru. **Principales responsabilités du poste**:
- Assister les responsables du service après-vente et les techniciens des concessionnaires dans la résolution de problèmes techniques complexes sur les véhicules Subaru que les techniciens des concessionnaires ne sont pas en mesure de diagnostiquer ou de réparer.
- Participer à des formations afin de se tenir au courant de toutes les nouvelles évolutions techniques.
- Apporter son soutien aux services Garantie, Pièces détachées, Service clientèle et Assurance qualité, selon les besoins.
- Fournir à la direction un rapport de fin de mois sur la clôture des dossiers des concessionnaires.
- Participer à l'organisation du concours annuel des maîtres techniciens.
- Participer aux mises à niveau et être disposé à réaliser d'autres « projets » si nécessaire.
- Aider l'équipe après-vente dans les tâches qui doivent être gérées par le service d'assistance technique (par exemple, restrictions sur les pièces, rappels, etc.).
- Effectuer d'autres tâches connexes qui lui sont assignées.
**Compétences / Attributs requis**:
- Excellentes compétences en communication écrite et orale en anglais et en français.
- Solides compétences en diagnostic électronique/électrique.
- Compétences exceptionnelles en résolution de problèmes techniques liés aux produits.
- Solides compétences interpersonnelles.
**Qualifications**:
- Technicien automobile agréé par la province requis.
- Une expérience pratique en tant que technicien chez un concessionnaire automobile japonais/importateur est préférable.
- Une connaissance et une expérience de Subaru sont un atout, mais ne sont pas obligatoires.
- Permis de conduire provincial valide.
- Un diplôme d'études secondaires est requis.
- Une formation postsecondaire en technologie automobile ou dans un domaine connexe est un atout.
**Conditions physiques**:
- Horaires de travail flexibles et heures supplémentaires si nécessaire.
- Capacité à soulever jusqu'à 22 kg.
- Se pencher, soulever et marcher.
- Sédentaire - utilisation prolongée d'un ordinateur.
