**Position Overview**

Reporting to the Production Coordinator - Digital Copy Centre, this fast-paced position is responsible for operating a range of digital printers and all related equipment and software located in the City's Digital Copy Centre and Mailroom. The Digital Print Technician provides frontline customer service to all departments.

**Responsibilities**

The Digital Print Technician will be responsible for:

- Providing a range of print and mail solutions for City staff, such as: colour and black & white printing, imposition, digital ticket numbering and digital document adjustment and assembly in addition to standard reports, agendas and letter printing
- Providing technical support and training to users regarding EFI Digital Storefront
- Inputting inventory, price, work orders and data via EFI Digital Storefront and Microsoft Excel
- Making creative recommendations to staff on print orders to reduce cost, meet accessibility requirements, maintain city branding and quality standards and refers clients to the Creative Services group for major artwork adjustments
- Working with Creative Services staff to provide graphic design support and to put ideas into production
- Performing routine preventative maintenance and initiating service calls for all machinery when required
- Providing customer service to all corporate photocopiers including providing operational and technical support and assistance
- Maintaining and uploading products and print services as well as preparing Variable Data Templates
- Providing back up to the Mailroom as required
- Ordering and maintaining inventory of stock, toner, staples etc, including authorizing purchases within approval limits
- Providing assistance with arrivals at the loading dock and providing limited security through controlled access to the loading bay

**Requirements**:
The successful applicant requires at least (1) years of experience working with digital print technology, a High School Diploma and strong communication, time management and organizational skills. This position involves the operation of a small forklift and technical equipment that includes heavy lifting of paper supplies and finished products. Must have working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional and various computer-based graphic design, office and print software (Adobe Creative Cloud, Corel, Word, Excel, Fusion Pro). Knowledge/experience with EFI Digital Storefront is considered an asset.
