- We are recruiting a Finance Coordinator, who will provide financial support to the update and implementation of the Long Range Financial Plan (LRFP). This includes the continued integration of the LRFP into other processes and projects that are ongoing at The City.

As a Finance Coordinator you will be a key liaison who provides strategic financial expertise and support to operational business units, external partners and Corporate Finance. You will engage with business unit operations and Finance to determine effective processes that meet financial reporting requirements and support financial reporting analysis. Primary duties include:

- Assist with LRFP operating and capital base and scenario projections including preparation, ongoing analysis and adjustments, forecasting and advising.
- Assist with the development, monitoring and reporting of performance measures with targets and comparative municipal benchmarks specific to the LRFP.
- Prepare corporate reports and presentations for the Executive Leadership Team and Council.
- Facilitate the ongoing integration of the strategies and tactics in the LRFP into other processes and projects across The City.
- Communicate regularly with business units to provide financial analysis, professional judgment, process review, policy interpretation and associated recommendations.
- Facilitate, relate and interpret Corporate Finance direction to operational business units.
- Assist with streamlining and developing new processes to address changes in the business needs.
- Respond to a variety of corporate and client requests with competing deadlines.
- Identify and escalate issues and risks developing recommendations for resolution.

**Qualifications**
- A degree and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation with at least 5 years of progressive financial experience which includes leading financial projects.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and in data analytics is required.
- Previous experience with public sector accounting standards, Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and the United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP) will also be considered assets.
- Previous experience with Financial Reporting, and with People Soft Financial Supply Chain Management (FSCM) and Human Capital Management (HCM) is considered an asset.
- Success in this position requires strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, innovation and an ability challenge the status quo and think of new ways of doing things.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills accompanied by well-developed presentation and facilitation skills are essential.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills, with a high level of organization and attention to detail.
