- We are recruiting a Finance Coordinator, who will provide financial support to the Planning and Development Service's (PDS) department, General Manager Office and Service Excellence division.

As a Finance Coordinator you will be a key liaison who provides strategic financial expertise and support to operational business units, external partners and Corporate Finance. You will engage with business unit operations and Finance to determine effective processes that meet financial reporting requirements and support financial reporting analysis. Primary duties include:

- Communicate regularly with the business unit to provide financial analysis, professional judgment, process review, policy interpretation and associated recommendations.
- Review and evaluate financial processes and statements to ensure compliance with professional accounting standards, contractual, legislative obligations and corporate financial reporting requirements.
- Assist with operating and capitals budgets including preparation, perform ongoing analysis and review adjustments, forecasting and advising.
- Facilitate, relate and interpret Corporate Finance direction to operational business unit.
- Assist with streamlining and developing new processes to address changes in the business needs.
- Respond to a variety of corporate and client requests with competing deadlines.
- Identify and escalate issues and risks developing recommendations for resolution.
- Provide advice, guidance, training and coaching to Senior Financial Accountant and other finance personnel to ensure appropriate workflow and processes.

**Qualifications**
- A degree and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation with at least 5 years of progressive financial experience which includes leading financial projects.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and in data analytics is required.
- Previous experience with public sector accounting standards, Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and the United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP) will also be considered assets.
- Previous experience with Financial Reporting, and with People Soft Financial Supply Chain Management (FSCM) and Human Capital Management (HCM) is considered an asset.
- Success in this position requires strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, innovation and an ability challenge the status quo and think of new ways of doing things.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills accompanied by well-developed presentation and facilitation skills are essential.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills, with a high level of organization and attention to detail.
