Instructor - Summer Camp

**Job Summary**
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Camp Counsellors to join our team for an exciting summer camp experience. As a Camp Counsellor, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, fun, and educational environment for children. You will be responsible for leading activities, providing guidance, and ensuring the well-being of campers while fostering their personal growth and development.

Summer Camp starts from June 30 and ends August 29 on all weekdays.

**Responsibilities**
- Supervise and engage with campers during various activities, ensuring their safety and enjoyment.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate educational and recreational programs that promote learning and teamwork.
- Foster positive relationships with campers, encouraging participation and helping them develop new skills.
- Provide support in daily routines, including meals, hygiene, and transitions between activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding camper progress and any concerns.
- Collaborate with fellow counsellors to create a cohesive team environment that enhances the camp experience.
- Maintain a clean and organized camp area, ensuring all equipment is safe and functional.
- Have At least 2 years of experience in Experience with children
- Be comfortable working in an athletic setting
- Have some knowledge of some sports
- Have your transportation
- Be punctual, professional, and Patient
- Implement high-energy and fun classes
- Have a Level 3 Police Clearance (Vulnerable Sector Check)

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience working with children in a camp or educational setting is preferred.
- A background in early childhood education or related fields is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with children of various ages.
- Experience in tutoring or educating children is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating leadership skills.
- Must be energetic, patient, and possess a positive attitude towards working with youth.
- Willingness to participate in training sessions before the start of the camp season.
- Work Environment:

- This is a part-time position.

**Job Logistics**:

- There will be a lead instructor and a support instructor at each class, in case there is more than one instructor in a session.
- Each instructor is responsible for their issued equipment bags.
- Pay is $ 18 per hour
- This position is for the Summer Camp we are organizing
- Summer Camp runs from Monday to Friday in Mississauga ( Eglinton X Dixie )
- Camp timing 9 am to 5 pm, with a few early drop-offs at 7 am and late pick-ups till 7 pm
- Depending on the schedule, be available to work 2-3 days per week.
- You are required to arrive 15 minutes early and stay 15 minutes after class (or until every child has been dismissed).
- You will use your transportation to drive to the schools; OTA does not reimburse for gas or mileage.
- There are mandatory trainings and staff meetings.

Contract length: 8 weeks

Pay: $18.50-$19.86 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
